What is Neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity is an umbrella term that describes the natural variations in how individuals' brains think and process information. Coined by sociologist Judy Singer in the late 1990s, it acknowledges that cognitive conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and others are not deficits but rather natural differences in human brain function. This perspective promotes acceptance and understanding of these differences rather than viewing them as disorders that need to be fixed.
